András Csáki was born in Budapest in 1981 and graduated at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music there in 2007, as a pupil of the leading Hungarian guitar professors, including József Eötvös, Ede Roth and Sándor Szilvágyi. His international career started in 1999 after winning the 26th Dr Luis Sigall International Competition in Chile. This prestigious contest brought him a large number of concert opportunities.
He played recitals throughout Europe, the United States, South America and Japan and by 2009 had received eighteen prizes, among others first prize in the 51st Tokyo International Guitar Competition in 2008, and in the 42nd Michele Pittaluga Guitar Competition in Alessandria, Italy, in 2009.
He has been a regular participant in international master-classes all over the world, including masterclasses held by Leo Brouwer, Abel Carlevaro, Costas Cotsiolis, Aniello Desiderio, Zoran Dukic, Pablo Marquez, Judicaël Perroy, David Russell, and Barna Kováts.
He is currently an assistant professor at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest.
