Born in Cagliari, Gianluca Floris began his vocal studies there in 1998. In 1992 was a finalist in the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition in Philadelphia. He has taken lyric tenor rôles in operas including Rossini’s Ermione e Otello, Verdi’s La traviata, Nabucco, Macbeth, Rigoletto and Puccini’s Tosca, La bohème and Madama Butterfly, as well as numerous character rôles, including Bardolfo and Dr Cajus in Falstaff and Don Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro. He also has an extensive concert repertoire.
