Domonkos Csabay

Domonkos Csabay is a Hungarian pianist based in the UK. Alongside solo recitals he has also performed a wide range of repertoire as a chamber musician and accompanist. He has appeared at prestigious venues such as Town Hall and Symphony Hall in Birmingham and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, and collaborated with renowned artists and companies such as the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Longborough Festival Opera. He has made concerto appearances with the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra and Oxford Sinfonia among others, and has been invited to events such as Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival and the Budapest Spring Festival.

His versatility is well illustrated by diverse competition success, including winning the Brant International Piano Competition in 2016, prizes won as a composer in Romania and as member of a Lied duo in Wales. Csabay studied at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, becoming an Annie Fischer scholar, and at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where he received the Joseph Weingarten Scholarship. He has appeared on BBC Radio 3, and in 2019 was selected to become a Samling Artist. In 2020 he received the Adami Awards, and took a position at the Royal College of Music in London, as collaborative piano fellow.
